Beijing: China’s top legislator Zhao Leji is scheduled to embark on official goodwill visits to Portugal, Spain, and Greece from November 21 to 30. Zhao, who serves as the chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, will undertake these visits following invitations from key legislative figures in each country.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the invitations were extended by Jose Pedro Aguiar-Branco, the speaker of the Portuguese Parliament, Francina Armengol, the speaker of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, and Constantine Tassoulas, the president of the Greek parliament. These visits are seen as a significant move to strengthen diplomatic and legislative ties between China and these European countries. Zhao’s visit is expected to include discussions on bilateral cooperation and other mutual interests.
