China’s Manufacturing Advances Propel Global Technological Innovation

Hefei: A high-end passenger vehicle collaboratively developed by JAC Motors and Huawei has been drawing considerable attention at the 2025 World Manufacturing Convention, thanks to its luxurious interior, digital chassis, and Huawei's advanced intelligent driving technology.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the premium MAEXTRO S800 sedan is being showcased at this year's convention in Hefei, the capital of east China's Anhui Province. This vehicle is a product of the MAEXTRO Super Factory, which employs Huawei's digital and AI technologies to create a "digital twin" plant, allowing for real-time monitoring and evolution across the production process. The factory utilizes over 1,800 intelligent robots for fully automated stamping, welding, painting, and assembly.

The debut of the MAEXTRO S800 underscores China's role in upgrading industries through advanced manufacturing, turning innovations into market-ready products, and supporting both domestic and global industrial development.

In Hefei, NIO's Second Advanced Manufacturing Base serves as both a production site and an industrial tourism destination due to its state-of-the-art workshops. The plant features a three-dimensional vehicle storage platform and operates fully automatically, with industrial AI algorithms making 80 percent of manufacturing decisions and 941 robots ensuring a 100 percent automation rate in joining processes.

Yu Dongming, general manager of NIO (Anhui branch), noted that participating in the World Manufacturing Convention over the years has allowed NIO to witness the continuous upgrading of China's manufacturing, particularly in new energy vehicles.

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable Laptop, a hot topic among tech enthusiasts, is mass-produced at LCFC (Hefei) Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. This factory integrates intelligent manufacturing and technological breakthroughs, producing one in every eight laptops sold globally and recognized as a national model smart factory.

Chen Wei, a senior executive at Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd., emphasized the core role of intelligent manufacturing in the company's global operations, highlighting China's advanced manufacturing capacity's international recognition.

At a global automation event in Munich, Chinese company EFORT Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd. showcased its solutions, attracting international customers and partnerships. The company sold over 16,000 industrial robots in 2024, utilized across various industries and recognized by brands like Maserati, BMW, and Volkswagen.

Multinational companies are increasingly partnering with Chinese firms, as seen with Volkswagen Anhui's MEB plant, which features highly intelligent production lines. Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen Group, outlined plans to launch numerous all-electric models in China by 2030, all equipped with advanced technology.

Marelli's global operations head, Stefano Petrilli, highlighted China's manufacturing and innovation capabilities, enabling rapid and customized solutions for both local and global markets. Marelli has established significant infrastructure in China, including eight R and D centers and 17 factories.

Advanced manufacturing in China is increasingly attracting foreign investment, with high-tech manufacturing accounting for a significant portion of the 2024 foreign direct investment total. Zhang Xianfeng of Hefei University of Technology's School of Economics remarked on China's manufacturing capacity as a key driver of global industrial growth.
