Yangon: The 13th batch of emergency humanitarian assistance sent by the Chinese government was officially handed over to Myanmar on Saturday in Yangon. This significant aid delivery is part of ongoing efforts to support Myanmar in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the aid supplies included 1,576 prefabricated houses. These essential supplies were accepted by Yangon Region Minister for Natural Resources U Zaw Win, marking a crucial step in providing shelter to those affected by the disaster.
The 7.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 has had severe consequences. As of May 9, official data from Myanmar indicates that the earthquake has resulted in approximately 3,800 fatalities and over 5,100 injuries, with around 100 individuals still unaccounted for. The continued delivery of aid is critical in addressing the needs of those impacted by this natural calamity.
