China Trade Week Opens in Nairobi with Global Participation

Nairobi: The 8th edition of China Trade Week (CTW) commenced in Nairobi, featuring a three-day exhibition that has attracted international attention, with key leaders from countries like Malawi and Zambia participating. This event serves as a platform for these countries to showcase their resources, learn, and engage in meaningful interactions.

According to Kenya News Agency, who officially launched CTW Kenya at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, this year’s event is notable for introducing the Africa Food Show, Africa Build Show, and the exclusive Africa e-Digital Connect Summit. Ololtuaa encouraged visitors, exhibitors, and delegates to explore Kenya’s rich forests, wildlife, historical sites, and culture during their stay.

Global Exhibition Director, Mr. Edwin Masivo, also welcomed participants to Nairobi, highlighting the cultural and business opportunities available in the city. Dr. James Mwaura, Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), emphasized the benefits of the CTW’s partnership with KNCCI, including trade facilitations, market access, knowledge exchange, and business networking opportunities.

Dr. Mwaura pointed out that almost 40% of Kenyans use dollars in operations, and the widespread use of Mpesa in Kenya has revolutionized financial transactions, making it easier for people to carry less cash. Meanwhile, the Deputy High Commissioner of Zambia in Kenya, Mr. Alfred Musemuna, called on African countries to consider investing in Zambia, highlighting its rich resources like diamonds and gold, as well as its peaceful and business-friendly environment.
