Beijing: China is poised to leverage the upcoming 31st APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting as a platform to expand opportunities for its Asia-Pacific partners through high-quality development and high-standard opening-up, a foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday. Spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized China’s commitment during a daily press briefing, highlighting the strategic importance of the Asia-Pacific region in driving global economic growth.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Lin Jian described the Asia-Pacific as the world’s most dynamic region, accounting for one-third of the global population, over 60 percent of the global economy, and nearly half of global trade. As a significant player in regional cooperation, China has positioned itself as the largest trading partner for 13 APEC economies, significantly contributing to the region’s economic growth, goods, and services trade.

Lin underscored the collaborative efforts of countries in the region to embrace peaceful development while rejecting b
loc confrontation and zero-sum games. It is through these efforts that the region has achieved the “Asia-Pacific Miracle,” establishing itself as a stabilizing force for global development and stability. Lin stressed the importance of preserving and cherishing these achievements.

China’s vision includes working collaboratively with regional partners to establish an Asia-Pacific community characterized by openness, inclusiveness, innovative growth, connectivity, and mutually beneficial cooperation, Lin concluded.
