Beidahu: Host China dominated the final Aerials Mixed Team event of the season at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup at Beidahu Ski Resort in Jilin Province on Monday. Team China 1, featuring Olympic gold medalists Xu Mengtao and Qi Guangpu alongside Li Tianma, secured victory with a combined score of 345.26 points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Team USA 1 came second with a score of 317.05, while Team China 2, comprising Chen Meiting, Wang Xindi, and Li Xinpeng, placed third with 316.72 points. Eight teams participated in the mixed team event, with China and the United States each entering two teams. Canada, Ukraine, Australia, and Kazakhstan also joined the competition.
Qi Guangpu expressed confidence in the team, stating, "The weather today is better than yesterday, and all my teammates performed well, so I was very confident when I went out for the last run." Qi scored 123.53 with his back double full-full-full. Li Tianma, who clinched the men's Aerials on Sunday, landed his back full-double-full-full for 122.57. Xu Mengtao, winner of the women's Aerials in Beidahu, contributed to the team's success with a score of 99.16.
Xu Mengtao remarked on the challenges faced during the event, saying, "It wasn't easy today. The weather was a little warmer, so that was something to deal with. I'm so proud of my teammates - they did such a good job. This team win is a great reward for us." China's performance at the World Cup in Beidahu includes three gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
