China Marks 75 Years of Progress with Renewed Commitment to Modernization

BEIJING—As China celebrates the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic, the nation reflects on its journey of transformation and looks forward to continuing its path toward modernization with confidence and tenacity.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a national flag-raising ceremony at Tian'anmen Square in downtown Beijing on October 1, which drew more than 120,000 spectators, symbolized the collective pride and optimism of the Chinese people. This event kicked off National Day celebrations and underscored a significant milestone in China's history.

Since its establishment in 1949, China has rapidly evolved from a primarily agrarian society into the world’s second-largest economy. This transformation is marked by the achievement of moderate prosperity and the complete eradication of absolute poverty—a monumental achievement attributed to decades of relentless effort. Advances in education, social security, and healthcare, which rank among the largest systems globally, have significantly improved the quality of life, enhancing the Chinese people's sense of fulfillment and happiness.

Guided by the Communist Party of China (CPC), the nation has not only experienced swift economic growth but has also maintained long-term social stability, achieving what is often referred to as the dual miracles of modernization. This success has challenged the notion that modernization necessitates Westernization, providing a model for other developing nations.

The leadership of the CPC has been pivotal in navigating the country through industrialization—a process completed in mere decades compared to centuries in the West. Additionally, systematic improvements, innovations, and the deepening of reforms and opening-up policies have all played crucial roles in China's achievements.

Despite Western skepticism and narratives predicting China's decline, the country has continued to dispel such myths, demonstrating resilience against external pressures. As it stands, China promotes a modernization model characterized by green and peaceful development, distinguishing itself on the global stage.

The recent third plenum of the 20th CPC Central Committee in July outlined comprehensive reforms, introducing over 300 significant measures aimed at infusing new energy into China’s modernization drive. These reforms underscore the CPC's determination to overcome forthcoming challenges and achieve new successes.

As China continues on its irreversible path toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, its commitment to a people-centered development philosophy and a shared future for humanity remains strong, promising to elevate its contributions to global peace and development.
