New York—Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the robust and dynamic relationship between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as a paradigm for a new type of international relations during discussions on Friday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made these remarks while engaging with GCC foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session. Wang noted the GCC’s status as one of the most dynamic regional organizations in the Middle East and reaffirmed China’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties. He emphasized the mutual support on core interest issues and the aim to deepen cooperation across various sectors including economy, trade, energy, investment, and innovation.
The foreign ministers from the GCC countries echoed this sentiment, expressing their readiness to advance the consensus reached at the first GCC-China Summit. They are keen to expand cooperation in economic, trade, financial, energy, aerospace, artificial intelligence, and climate change sectors, aiming to foster greater growth in GCC-China relations.
The discussions also covered the broader situation in the Middle East, reflecting the strategic importance of GCC-China ties in regional and global contexts.
