Beijing—The China Coast Guard (CCG) has been closely monitoring a supply mission by a Philippine civilian vessel at Ren’ai Jiao in the South China Sea, emphasizing ongoing maritime surveillance in the region.
According to Namibia Press Agency, CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun reported on Friday that the operation involved supplying daily necessities to a Philippine warship that has been controversially grounded at Ren’ai Jiao. This supply mission, which took place on Thursday, represents a temporary compromise coordinated between Chinese and Philippine authorities. Liu reiterated the importance of cooperation, urging the Philippines to fulfill its commitments to manage the maritime situation amicably.
Further underscoring China’s maritime stance, Liu declared that the CCG will persist in its law enforcement duties throughout the surrounding waters of China’s Nansha Qundao and Ren’ai Jiao. This ongoing vigilance highlights the strategic importance of the area and China’s intent to oversee activities within its claimed territories.
