China Asserts Its Support for Myanmar’s Peace and Sovereignty


NAYPYIDAW — China’s embassy in Myanmar has reiterated its commitment to fostering a peaceful relationship with its neighbor, emphasizing support for Myanmar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid accusations of interference in the nation’s affairs.



According to Namibia Press Agency, a spokesperson from the Chinese embassy in Myanmar addressed media claims and individual accusations of China meddling in Myanmar’s internal issues on Saturday. The embassy firmly denied these allegations, underlining China’s longstanding policy of non-interference in the domestic matters of other nations. The spokesperson articulated that China and Myanmar have a tradition of amicable relations and that China continues to back Myanmar in maintaining its independence, national unity, and territorial sovereignty.



The spokesperson further condemned any foreign disruptions in Myanmar and criticized attempts to strain the relationship between the two countries. Highlighting the adverse impacts of instability, the spokesperson advocated for an immediate ceasefire and peaceful resolution of conflicts, particularly in northern Myanmar. The embassy confirmed China’s intent to sustain its role in promoting dialogue and reducing tensions in the region.
