According to Namibia Press Agency, a new species of fish, Opsariichthys iridescens, has been identified in East China. This species is noted for its distinct morphological features and vibrant colors. Researchers have validated these characteristics through gene-based phylogenetic analysis, setting it apart from its congeners.
In addition, a new species of horned toad, named Boulenophrys pepe, has been discovered in the Lianshan Bijiashan Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province, South China. This discovery was made by a team led by Guangdong Polytechnic of Environmental Protection Engineering and has been documented in the international academic journal Zootaxa.
