BANGKOK—In an exhilarating display of sportsmanship and diplomacy, China and Thailand concluded a women's ice hockey friendly match with a 6-6 tie on Sunday evening. The event was marked by significant attendance from both nations' dignitaries and celebrated upcoming anniversaries of diplomatic ties and national foundations.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the match was not just a sporting event but also a diplomatic gesture, co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports. It celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the approaching 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, which will be observed next year.

The game saw a high-profile audience that included Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida, who actively participated by leading the Thai team and scoring the opening goal just three minutes into the game. Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and International Ice Hockey Federation President Luc Tardif were also present, underscoring the game's importance as a bridge between sports and international relations.
