China and Egypt Collaborate on Massive 10-Gigawatt Solar Power Project


Cairo, Egypt – China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co has partnered with Egyptian authorities to launch a landmark 10-gigawatt solar power project. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Egyptian New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) and the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co (EEHC).



According to Africa News Agency, This collaboration is a key component of Cairo’s strategy to boost its renewable energy capacity and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The project aligns with the Egyptian government’s sustainable energy plan and aims to produce 29,784 GW of clean energy annually. The venture is expected to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions in Egypt, eliminating approximately 14 million tons annually.
