Chief of Tougan Welcomes May 15th as Celebration of Customs and Traditions

Sourou: The chief of Tougan welcomes the choice of May 15 as the day. The chief of Tougan welcomed, on Thursday, the government's choice of May 15 to celebrate our customs and traditions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, May 15th is now known as a date for celebrating customs and traditions in Burkina Faso. In Tougan, Sourou, the day was commemorated in Sector 5, a neighborhood commonly known as Samogotchi. Following customary and ancestral practices, the chief of Tougan, Adama Djanl¨ Drabo, welcomed the choice of a date by the country's leaders to commemorate customs and traditions. For him, the commemoration of customs and traditions is a source of social cohesion and a change in mentalities.

"Thank you to the highest authorities for choosing May 15th as the date to celebrate our customs and traditions. We are very honored. This is a source of unity and social cohesion and will greatly contribute to eradicating the evil that is eating away at us," he said.

He pronounced blessings on the High Commissioner and all workers in general and in particular, those of Tougan. For the High Commissioner, D©sir© Badolo, it is the combination of all energies that will make it possible to overcome the common enemy. "We have come on behalf of the government to commune with customary legitimacy, this day because we must draw on our customs and traditions, resources that will allow us to face the common enemy. All energies that can be combined to overcome the common enemy must be brought together," said D©sir© Badolo.

It should be noted that the commemoration of May 15 continued in Tougan with traditional dance steps and presentations of best wishes by other religious and social groups.
