Change of Guard at Kenya Maritime Authority

Nairobi: Former Wajir West Member of Parliament and immediate former Chairman of the Kenya Roads Board, Ahmed Kolosh has taken over as the non-executive Chairman of the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA).

According to Kenya News Agency, the outgoing KMA Chairman, Hamisi Mwaguya, has been reassigned to a three-year non-executive position as Chairman of the Business Registration Service Board. The transition in leadership was witnessed by the Principal Secretary for Maritime and Shipping, Geoffrey Kaituko, along with the KMA Board of Directors and management during a ceremony held at the Bahari Tower.

This change is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the governance of key maritime and shipping institutions in Kenya. The new leadership at KMA is expected to steer the authority towards enhanced maritime safety and regulatory compliance.
