Tripoli, March 16, 2023 (LANA) – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company (GECOL), Mohamed Al-Mashai, has briefed Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabiba, on the company’s plans for the current year, which included the work carried out in the field of major overhauls, maintenance of transmission lines and related technical procedures, to start Work on the construction of a station south of Tripoli, which will produce about 1,400 megawatts.
That meeting, which was held, Thursday, at the headquarters of the State Audit Bureau, included “Al-Dbaiba, Al-Kabeer and Shakshak, during which the company’s plan to face the summer peak was followed up, in the presence of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.
According to the Prime Minister’s Media Office, Al-Mashai affirmed during the meeting the Prime Minister’s support for the company through issuing decisions, allocating the necessary funds, and continuous follow-up of its plans, as well as the efforts of the Chief of Staff and the Governor in facilitating all projects related to the stability of the General Electricity Company.
The meeting emphasized continuation of meetings to address any difficulties facing the electricity file, and to prioritize it in follow-up during the current period, praising efforts of the company’s employees, which contributed to maintaining the company’s performance during the winter season.
