Ceremony Marks Return of Nouna High Court to Its Seat After Three-Year Relocation

Nouna: The Minister in charge of Justice, Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, attended the solemn ceremony of the rotating raising of the colors at the Nouna High Court, marking the court's return to its seat after a three-year period of relocation. The event was presided over by the High Commissioner of Koosin Province, Noufo Dembele, and was attended by various provincial bodies.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, was an opportunity for the president of the High Court, Moussa Bassan, to commend the authorities for selecting the institution and acknowledge the contributions of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in facilitating the court's return.

High Commissioner Noufo Dembele expressed his pleasure in welcoming Minister Bayala, highlighting that the presence of the Minister signifies the accessibility of Koosin and underscores the effectiveness of the efforts made by the FDS and VDP. He encouraged these forces to continue their work and urged the local population to support the initiatives of the President of Faso, particularly those related to Faso Mebo and quality education.

Minister Bayala paid tribute to the fallen fighting forces and wished a swift recovery to the injured. He emphasized that the raising of the colors at the High Court symbolizes resilience and continuity, drawing parallels to similar returns of high courts in other regions such as Dori, Djibo, Tougan, and Bogande.

Following the ceremony, Minister Bayala toured the High Court premises to review the developments undertaken during its absence. The ministerial delegation also extended courtesy visits to traditional and religious leaders to convey the government's gratitude.
