On Wednesday March 15, 2023, the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs (MDAC), Colonel-Major Kassoum Coulibaly accompanied by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Security in charge of Security , Police Commissioner Mahamadou Sana, Colonel-Major Célestin Simporé, Commander of the National Theater Operations Command (COTN) and a delegation of military authorities went respectively to Kongoussi and Bourzanga (Bam Province) to encourage FDS and VDP units engaged in operation “Lamingol3” (Cleaning in the Fulfulde language).

Updates on this major operation with the Joint Theater Command Post (PCIAT) in progress and direct exchanges with the units and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland, were the highlights of this field visit.

On this occasion, the MDAC, on behalf of the Supreme Chief of the National Armed Forces and the Government, expressed its satisfaction for the determination of the men and the results already achieved.

He encouraged them to continue this momentum of pacification of the area and promised to take into account the suggestions and grievances expressed for a better conduct of the operation.

Exchanges with units

The Minister of State also appreciated the particular attention that the troops pay to the populations through humanitarian actions.

Speaking of this aspect, he underlined that the main objective of the operations is to relieve the populations by granting them the maximum attention and assistance.

As a reminder, the Laabingol-3 operation began in the first week of March with the mission of controlling the area between Kongoussi – Djibo and restoring the fluidity of traffic between these two cities.

Already, this operation has allowed the supply of basic necessities to Bourzanga and the surrounding localities. Ultimately, it should make it possible to resume the asphalting of the RN22 which had been interrupted.
