Central Bank Promotes Financial Literacy During Global Money Week

Luanda: The National Bank of Angola (BNA) is organizing a series of activities related to financial literacy and inclusion from 17 to 21 March in Luanda and in the institution’s regional offices, as part of the 13th edition of Global Money Week.



According to Angola Press News Agency, which is part of the Financial Education and Inclusion Program, aims to promote knowledge about digital finance and the impact of the emergence of financial influencers and artificial intelligence on consumer habits, encouraging the conscious and safe use of financial products and services.



The initiative includes lectures on financial education and digital literacy, awareness campaigns on opening bank accounts and electronic money in the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda, Kwanza Sul, Kwanza Norte, Lunda Norte, Malanje, Hu­la, Namibe, Benguela, U­ge and Cuando.



The 13th edition will be held under the theme ‘Think before you act, be wise with your money’.



Since 2012, World Money Week has been celebrated annually in more than 176 countries with the aim of raising awareness of financial literacy among the population, especially children, adolescents and young people.



It is an opportunity to bring together banking and non-banking financial institutions, educational institutions, public and private sector organisations, associations and civil society representatives to promote financial education and inclusion.



The project, coordinated by the International Financial Education Network of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), usually takes place between 20 and 26 March.
