Lucala: The National Bank of Angola (BNA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting entrepreneurs engaged in national production. This initiative is aimed at stabilizing the prices of essential goods within the basic food basket, as announced by BNA Governor Manuel António Tiago Dias during his visit to Lucala in the Cuanza-Norte province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Governor Dias underscored the importance of this support in enhancing productivity consistently. During his tour of two farms in the Lucala municipality that have benefited from bank credit, he emphasized that the continuation of this funding is intended to boost government-backed investments and incentives in goods production, ultimately aiming to improve the population’s quality of life.
Governor Dias highlighted that, pursuant to BNA notice 10/22, commercial banks are actively financing a variety of agricultural, food, and service production projects that significantly contribute to the well-being of the community. He pointed ou
t that the increase in prices within the national economy is largely linked to food and non-alcoholic beverages.
He also identified six key products where price hikes are most evident, suggesting that their regular and abundant local production could help mitigate these increases. “We will continue to improve our investments,” Governor Dias assured.
The governor, leading a BNA delegation, is in Cuanza Norte province as part of the Monetary Policy Committee’s four-day aid and control program.
