Outapi: The Nakayale Vocational Training Centre at Outapi in the Omusati Region has received a donation of obsolete electrical equipment from the Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (Cenored). The donation is aimed at strengthening the centre's ability to provide practical training in the electrical trade, contributing to national efforts to equip youth with industry-relevant skills.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Cenored Chief Executive Officer Fessor Mbango expressed the company's commitment to vocational training and acknowledged the challenges faced by vocational institutions. He stated that their goal is to support initiatives in education and skills development, aiming to make a lasting impact on the community and contribute to the development of Namibia.
Nakayale VTC Centre Manager Beata Kapolo highlighted the significance of the donation as a result of effective collaboration between public training institutions and industry partners. She emphasized that such partnerships are essential for creating a skilled and competitive workforce capable of meeting the demands of a modern economy. Kapolo mentioned that the equipment would improve the quality of practical training and enhance the centre's workshop capacity, ensuring that trainees are familiar with tools and technology used in real workplace environments, thereby increasing their employability and productivity.
Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo remarked on the donation's meaningful impact on the region's future. He noted that meaningful development is driven not only by policies and plans but also by partnerships and practical contributions.
