CEFIMEV Brings Joy to 150 Children in Kaya with Regional Children’s Smile Day

Sandbondtenga: The Circle of Young Mothers and Vulnerable Children (CEFIMEV) held the 8th edition of the Regional Children's Smile Day on Saturday in Kaya, celebrating under the theme: "A child's smile is a light for the future." This heartwarming event reached out to 150 orphaned and vulnerable children, including internally displaced children (IDCs), by distributing toys, sweets, biscuits, juice, hygiene kits, and corn, bringing much-needed joy to their lives.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of CEFIMEV, Ass©tou Ou©draogo, known as Maman Gourou, emphasized that the day was more than an event, serving as a call for solidarity towards orphaned or abandoned children. She highlighted the importance of supporting these children for the nation's future, urging active participation and solidarity from the community.

The provincial director of Family and Solidarity of Sandbondtenga, Abdoulaye Bamogo, expressed his support for the initiative, noting its alignment with public policies aimed at child protection. The event's significance was further underscored by Nouriatou Sawadogo, spokesperson for the beneficiaries, who honored the fallen Defense and Security Forces and Maman Gourou with a moving slam that celebrated children as the future of the nation.

Further adding to the day's festivities, the event was under the patronage of Dr. Rasman© Daniel Sawadogo and featured entertainment by children's troupes and artists, making the day memorable for all involved.
