Ganzourgou: The public Preschool and Early Childhood Education Center (CEEP) in Sector 2 of Zorgho celebrated its tenth anniversary on Friday, May 2, 2025. It was during a ceremony filled with gratitude, joy, and hope for the future. Chaired by the High Commissioner of Ganzourgou Province, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, and sponsored by Isidore Tiemtor©, Special Advisor to the President of Faso, the ceremony brought together students (former and current), parents, education stakeholders, and partners in the school's courtyard.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Preschool Education and Awakening Center (CEEP) in sector 2 of Zorgho officially opened its doors in February 2015. This year, the establishment is ten years old and the people involved in this building wanted to mark the event with a milestone by organizing this ceremony.
Nursery rhymes, dances, ballets, songs, and magic tricks performed by the children punctuated the series of speeches to make this day memorable.
"Ten years of history, projects, collective efforts, but above all, ten years of love for early childhood education," the High Commissioner praised in her speech. She congratulated the educators, partners, parents, and all those who contributed to making the CEEP a true environment for children to live, learn, and thrive.
The chairman of the CEEP management committee, Issouf Sawadogo, thanked all those involved in the ceremony's success. He recalled that all of the center's meetings had been held regularly over the past decade before encountering certain challenges. These included soaring food prices and a lack of financial resources for the construction of two additional classrooms.
According to the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Ganzourgou, Nobila C©lestine Zagr©/Zoungrana, in ten years, the CEEP has welcomed 1,078 children, including 506 girls. In addition to traditional educational activities, it has organized nine cultural days, as many educational outings to Ouagadougou, and acquired various materials. Thanks to the support of the NGO ACCED, a 50-sheet solar-powered shed was built. These efforts were recognized with the 1st Prize for Excellence in 2021.
Dimbessida Augustin Kabor©, president of the Cri de Coeur Association for Equity and Development (ACCED), noted that the center was built with support from Children Believe and the Children's Fund of Canada. He urged authorities to express their gratitude to CEEP Director Souleymane Wanr©, whose leadership enabled continued funding.
In his speech, the president of the Zorgho municipal special delegation, Valentin Badolo, expressed his joy and thanked all those involved. He praised the commitment of the educators and the participation of the children, who are living witnesses to the center's impact. "The municipality has always placed early childhood at the heart of its priorities," he said.
The ceremony's patron, Isidore Tiemtor©, said he was honored by the award. He paid tribute to the educational team and urged the children to continue dreaming and making us dream: "Continue to have fun, to draw, to reinvent a world of peace and love for tomorrow."
Finally, the High Commissioner renewed her thanks to all partners for their commitment and invited everyone to continue to grow this educational work.
The ceremony ended with the presentation of gifts to several personalities accompanying the CEEP.
