Ouagadougou: The head of the Ouaga No. 10 Basic Education District (CEB), Apollinaire Bagoro, held a statutory meeting on Friday with the principals of primary schools and the teachers of the CM2 classes in the district. The purpose of the meeting was to review the first term's educational progress in order to better prepare for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Apollinaire Bagoro emphasized the need to analyze the data from the first term's diagnostic assessments, compositions, and classroom visits to identify areas for improvement. The meeting provided an opportunity for educational stakeholders to propose solutions and align on strategies for the current school year.
Mr. Bagoro highlighted the importance of taking stock of the first term and collaborating on solutions. He reiterated the necessity for all educational stakeholders to adhere to the directives issued by the ministry, which is undergoing reform.
The meeting facilitated discussions among the teaching support team, school principals, and CM2 class teachers, allowing them to evaluate the first term's progress. Teachers proposed solutions, and commitments were made to address pedagogical shortcomings identified during the term.
Fulgence Zoungrana, head of the primary education office of CEB Ouaga 10, noted that standardized compositions and mock exams revealed challenges in areas such as dictation, problem-solving, and text analysis. Teachers were encouraged to adopt a teaching approach that progresses from simple to complex concepts.
In closing, Apollinaire Bagoro urged CEB teachers to maintain diligence and punctuality in their classes. He clarified that a medical certificate does not grant automatic authorization for absence, emphasizing the need for formal requests for absence to continue treatment.
