Bungoma: The 5th Edition of the County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) Games has reached its third day in Bungoma town and surrounding areas, drawing participation from 42 County governments across the country. The event aims to foster interaction, competition, and cultural exchange among participants.
According to Kenya News Agency, the sports gathering features a wide range of activities, including football for men, volleyball for both men and women, netball, tug of war for men, and various indoor games such as pool, darts, badminton, table tennis, and chess. Additionally, there are cultural performances, including choir set-pieces, original compositions, and traditional dances.
The influx of visitors for the CASA Games has significantly boosted the local economy. Hotels and accommodation facilities are fully booked for the next five days, reflecting a rise in business for the hospitality sector. Supermarkets and food vendors report increased sales, while motorcycle riders are seeing increased demand
as they transport participants between venues. Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka highlighted the event’s role in fostering unity among members from different counties.
