Ziniar©: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, inaugurated the Sino Burkina Cement Industrial Company (CISINOB) on Thursday in Laongo, located in the province of Oubritenga, commune of Ziniar©, in the Central Plateau. This new facility boasts a production capacity of 750,000 tonnes of cement annually.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Trade, Serges Poda, delivered a statement on behalf of Captain Traor©, emphasizing that the completion of this project underscores Burkina Faso’s potential for strong investment, despite contrary opinions in some quarters. Mr. Poda highlighted the factory’s role in reinforcing the existing cement supply and aligning with the vision of sustainable development.



Mr. Poda pointed out the employment opportunities created by the factory and its contribution to invigorating the national economy. He urged industry players in the cement sector to invest fully to provide quality products at competitive prices, anticipating a reduction in cement prices that would facilitate the development of infrastructure and housing for the population.



Zhang Bing, Deputy Director of CISINOB, remarked that the inauguration of the plant represents a significant milestone for the company. He stated that the project, a result of considerable investment and the dedication of their teams, symbolizes their commitment to Burkina Faso’s economic and social growth.



CISINOB, backed by an initial investment of 26 billion CFA francs, with a long-term projection of 75 billion CFA francs, currently employs 110 permanent staff and 300 seasonal workers. The company anticipates creating over 1,300 direct and indirect jobs in the future. The plant’s production capacity, initially at 750,000 tonnes per year, has the potential to expand to 1,200,000 tonnes. Spread over 12.5 hectares, CISINOB markets its cement products under the CIM PANGA brand.
