According to the third survey report on employment and the informal sector (EESI3) in Cameroon, workers in the informal sector earn an average of 83,409 FCFA per month. The survey indicates a variation in income depending on the location.
According to Africa News Agency, with rural workers earning around 59,520 FCFA and their urban counterparts making approximately 96,367 FCFA. An hour of work in the informal sector is valued at an average of 669 FCFA. Furthermore, individuals who manage their own businesses reportedly earn an average monthly income of 181,200 FCFA, which is nearly twice the amount of 93,500 FCFA earned by self-employed workers.
