Cambodia’s International Trade Surges to 30.57 Billion USD in H1 2025

Phnom penh: Cambodia's foreign trade volume reached 30.57 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2025, marking a 17 percent increase over the same period last year, an official report revealed on Thursday. The kingdom's total exports amounted to 14.29 billion dollars, reflecting a year-on-year rise of 16 percent, while total imports hit 16.28 billion dollars, up 18 percent, as per the General Department of Customs and Excise's report.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Southeast Asian nation's primary trading partners included China, the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan. Cambodia exported mainly garment, footwear and travel goods products, bicycles, dry rubber, milled rice, bananas, cashew nuts, mangoes, and longans. The country imported raw materials for garment, footwear and travel goods, petroleum, construction materials, automobiles and motorcycles, electronic products, consumer goods, pharmaceutical products, and cosmetics, among others.

Ministry of Commerce's Secretary of State and spokesperson Penn Sovicheat attributed the trade growth to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA). He stated, "These free trade agreements are catalysts for our long-term sustainable export growth. With preferential tariffs provided by RCEP and CCFTA, our exports will continue to rise throughout this year and beyond."
