Ouagadougou – Brahima Traoré, the coach of Burkina Faso’s Cadet Stallions, has expressed a determined stance ahead of their crucial match against the United States in Group E of the cadet world cup. He emphasized the need for a collective play strategy, moving away from individualistic approaches, which is crucial for the team as they face a challenging situation in the tournament.

Traoré, known as the professor since his time with Stallions A (CAN 1998), mentioned that he and his staff had extensively reviewed two key videos: the Burkina Faso vs. France match and the United States vs. South Korea game. This analysis aims to give the players a comprehensive understanding of their next opponent and to encourage a more unified team effort.

The coach also noted the high expectations from the Burkinabè people and the team’s determination to meet them. He acknowledged the criticism regarding individualism within the team and assured that they have worked on this aspect through video sessions and strategic planning.

Apollinaire Bougma, a striker for the Cadet Stallions, expressed the team’s readiness to rectify past mistakes and capitalize on the opponent’s weaknesses. He conveyed the team’s positive mental state and their intention to approach the match with confidence.

Regarding the team’s fitness, Traoré updated on the condition of player Ali Sokondo, who had minor ailments since arriving from Morocco but has resumed training. He mentioned that Sokondo is not physically at his peak and that those who are 100% ready should play. Another player, Sidiki, was also noted as not being fully fit.

In Group E’s current standings, France leads with 3 points and a +3 goal difference, followed by the United States with 3 points and a +2 goal difference. South Korea and Burkina Faso are yet to score points, with -2 and -3 goal differences, respectively.
