Boulgou: A businessman from the Zabr© commune donated medical and technical equipment to the Zabr© health district on Thursday, during a ceremony held in the presence of administrative and health authorities. El Hadj Ousmane Gouba stated that his action was in line with the initiative championed by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donor, El Hadj Ousmane Gouba, residing in Zabr©, handed over a batch of equipment consisting of 40 chairs, 25 mattresses, 2 desks, a stretcher, a wheelchair, a trolley, and eight five-liter containers of gel, for an estimated value of nearly 2.5 million FCFA. The equipment was officially received by the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Zabr©, Alain Boubi© Bassano, before being handed over to the chief medical officer of the district (MCD), Dr. Djibril Boro.
The donor explained that his gesture followed an observation made during a visit to the Zabr© Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA), where he noticed a lack of equipment. After discussions with the Medical Development Center, he expressed his intention to support them and seized the opportunity to fulfill this commitment. Gouba emphasized that his actions were aligned with the approach advocated by the Head of State, inviting the locality’s residents to become partners of national institutions.
Basile Gouba, the representative of the chief of the canton of Zabr©, expressed appreciation for the initiative, offering blessings to the donor. Dr. Djibril Boro, the MCD, expressed gratitude, noting that the Ministry of Health and local authorities cannot meet all healthcare facility needs alone. He emphasized that the gesture aligns with national authorities’ vision to support technical services, improving care quality for the population.
Dr. Boro also made a plea for other priority needs, such as acquiring medical-technical equipment, equipping the second operating room, constructing a room for the X-ray machine, and renovating the laboratory building. The PDS conveyed gratitude on behalf of the special delegation and the people of Zabr©, stating that the gesture will contribute to saving lives and improve healthcare personnel’s working conditions.
The PDS encouraged health workers to maintain the health district’s performance and wished a good month of Lent to Muslim and Christian faithful.
