Oshakati: Bush Bucks Football Club continued their dominant run in the Namport Zambezi Regional Second Division League over the weekend, thrashing Green Eagles FC 4-0 on Saturday at the UNAM Sports Field. They, however, dropped points on Sunday, playing to a 1-1 draw against Rocanno King Rangers at the same venue. Despite the setback, Bush Bucks maintain a four-point lead at the top of the standings, ahead of second-placed Shooting Stars. According to Namibia Press Agency, Bush Bucks now have 36 points from 18 matches, having scored 35 goals. Shooting Stars endured a difficult weekend, losing 2-1 to Zambezi Sporting Academy on Saturday at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex (KMSC) before settling for a 1-1 draw against Real Cheetahs on Sunday. They remain second on the log with 32 points and 32 goals from 18 matches. Oryza Sativa occupy third position with 32 points and 30 goals, two goals less than Shooting Stars, while Space Age are fourth with 30 points and 32 goals. With the season set to conclude on 15 Ju ne, the race for top positions remains competitive as teams continue to battle for supremacy. In other weekend fixtures, Oryza Sativa defeated Rocanno King Rangers 1-0 on Saturday at the UNAM Sports Complex, while Bright Stars thrashed Blue Chiefs 4-1. Space Age beat Real Cheetahs 2-0, and Namib Chiefs defeated Black Buffaloes 2-0. On Sunday, Bright Stars recorded a 5-1 victory over Black Buffaloes, while Oryza Sativa beat Green Eagles 3-1. Space Age and Zambezi Sporting Academy played to a 1-1 draw, and Namib Chiefs defeated Blue Chiefs 3-1 at the KMSC. Namib Chiefs' strong performances have lifted them to eighth position on the log, up from 11th now occupied by Green Eagles, while Real Cheetahs remain bottom in 12th place. Other positions see Bright Stars in fifth, Black Buffaloes in sixth, Rocanno King Rangers in seventh, Zambezi Sporting Academy in ninth, and Blue Chiefs in 10th place.
