Katima mulilo: The Namport Zambezi Regional Second Division League continues this weekend, with league leaders Bush Bucks on 25 points clear after winning all its last week games to garner a maximum six points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, behind Bush Bucks sit second-placed Shooting Stars with 20 points. Shooting Stars won its last Saturday match 2-1 against Bright Stars. However, they stumbled on Sunday after losing 4-2 against a formidable seventh-placed Namib Chiefs at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex.
Zambezi Sporting Academy and Real Cheetahs sit at the bottom of the log this week, each floating with seven points but separated by a goal difference among other factors. Real Cheetahs lost 2-0 against Green Eagles on Saturday at the UNAM Sports Field while Zambezi Sporting Academy were beaten 1-0 by Roccano King Rangers. The two bottom-placed clubs drew all their Sunday games - with Real Cheetahs held to a one-all draw against Roccano. Zambezi Sporting Academy were held 3-3 against Green Eagles at the UNAM Sports Field on Sunday.
Meanwhile, action at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex begins at 08h00 this Saturday as Namib Chiefs meet Bright Stars. The other lineup here features Space Age against Shooting Stars at 10h00, concluding with an encounter between Zambezi Sporting Academy and Real Cheetahs from 12h00. At the UNAM Sports Field, kick-off begins at 12h00 on Saturday with Roccano facing Green Eagles. This will be followed by Black Buffaloes taking on Blue Chiefs, while Oryza Sativa are set to play Bush Bucks.
Sunday will feature two matches that were postponed in the past weeks - Real Cheetahs against Shooting Stars at 14h00, and Namib Chiefs against Oryza Sativa at 16h00 at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex. The latter match was postponed due to severe rainy weather conditions even though Oryza Sativa were leading 2-0 at the time. The game must restart afresh in terms of the Namibia Football Association and FIFA rules.
