Bus Plunges into Ravine in Eastern Myanmar, Claims Seven Lives

Kengtung: A passenger bus carrying over 30 passengers plunged into a ravine in eastern Myanmar’s Shan state, resulting in the death of seven individuals and injuries to 25 others.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the Myanmar Fire Services Department reported that the tragic accident took place around 8 p.m. local time on Saturday in Kengtung township, Shan state. The bus, which lost control, veered off the road and fell into a ravine.



A local police officer informed Xinhua on Sunday that among the victims, five males and two females died at the scene. Rescuers transferred the injured passengers to local hospitals for medical attention.
