OUAHIGOUYA — In a significant act of support, the Association for the Research of Initiatives and Actions for Harmonized Development (ARIADH) provided essential school kits and food supplies to 272 displaced students in the commune of Thiou, according to reports from AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of ARIADH, the donation included school kits consisting of bags, notebooks, slates, and pens, along with 1.5 tonnes of rice, 1 tonne of corn, 40 five-liter cans of oil, and various sleeping equipment such as mats, blankets, and clothes. This assistance was handed over to the Secretary General of Yatenga Province, Pierre Claver Bancé, and is part of a broader initiative to show solidarity with displaced students and to acknowledge the resilience of educational stakeholders in the area. Savadogo emphasized that this gesture was in response to the call from Head of State Captain Ibrahim Traoré for all citizens to demonstrate their solidarity and patriotism.
Madi Komi, Head of the Basic Education District of Thiou, expressed profound gratitude for the donation, highlighting its significance in ensuring educational continuity for the displaced students and alleviating the burden on their families. The school kits and food supplies are expected to make a substantial difference in the lives of these students, helping them to continue their education despite challenging circumstances.
Pierre Claver Bancé, representing the High Commissioner of Yatenga at the donation event, extended his thanks to Savadogo for his patriotic act and encouraged more such initiatives from the community to support those in need.
