Burkina’s Kug-Laaga Association to Host First International Health Professionals Exhibition.

Ouagadougou: The Kug-Laaga Association is set to organize the inaugural edition of the International Exhibition of Health Professionals and the Integration of Care (SIPSIS) from November 27 to 30, 2024. The organizing committee announced this initiative in Ouagadougou, highlighting its aim to foster health sovereignty and collaborative efforts among health ecosystem stakeholders across Africa. According to Burkina Information Agency, the event is designed to "contribute to health sovereignty and to a synergy of action of the actors of the ecosystem of human, animal and environmental health in Africa," as stated by Dr. Mamadou Baduon, the communication officer of the Permanent Secretariat of SIPSIS. Dr. Baduon emphasized that SIPSIS seeks to showcase the health ecosystem in Africa and promote context-specific health solutions. "We wish to contribute to the construction of sustainable health sovereignty in Africa by highlighting the potential and complementarity of different approaches," Dr. Baduon added. The exhibition will be held under the theme 'Traditional African medicine: factor of sovereignty and lever for socio-economic development'. The event will feature the People's Republic of China as the guest country of honor, with participation expected from the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States, including Mali and Niger. Attendees can anticipate a variety of activities, such as conferences, expert panels, exhibitions, B2B meetings, and site visits of health interest. Additionally, a gala evening named the Night of the Health Professional (NPS) will take place to honor healthcare professionals. During this event, awards will be presented in two categories: the SIPSIS prize and several special prizes.
