Ouagadougou: On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the National School for Active Non-Commissioned Officers (ENSOA) handed over food and money to the widows and orphans of soldiers who fell at the front on Thursday, as well as a borehole to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Kamboinsin. “This gesture will improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries, especially with the approaching holidays. And this borehole will help develop market gardening, especially during the dry season,” said Baloum Naaba of Kamboinsin in thanks.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these donations are part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the National School for Active Non-Commissioned Officers (ENSOA), which began on March 17 and will end on March 28, 2025, with the graduation of the 16th class of this prestigious military school. Several activities were organized, such as donation presentations, a gala match, and awards ceremonies.
On this occasion, former and new students contributed 10 million CFA francs to the donations. This sum also enabled the construction of a stele at ENSOA. “We were kind enough to associate civil-military activities with this celebration through acts of solidarity with the population of Kamboinsin,” declared Colonel Ahmed Rouamba, Chief of Staff of the Army.
He indicated that several classes have graduated from this school and that it is a way of expressing their gratitude to this population. “We are committed to alleviating some of their suffering,” confided Colonel Rouamba. The patron of this celebration, Brigadier General Barth©l©my Simpor©, specified that Kamboinsin has hosted a military base for more than 40 years which has been transformed into ENSOA.
In his opinion, this 20th anniversary can only be celebrated in communion with this community. For him, this anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the continued adaptation of this school to the context so that it can fulfill its mission of training executives.
