Ouagadougou: Senior officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance on a trip to the national museum: The Minister of Economy and Finance, Aboubakar Nacanabo, along with his close collaborators, visited the national museum on Tuesday to explore exhibitions on traditional cuisine, masks, and traditional habitats of Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Aboubakar Nacanabo expressed his appreciation for the role of culture in national development. He noted in the guestbook that culture, like the economy, forms a foundation for resilience and progress. The officials toured a temporary exhibition on traditional cuisine, showcasing various kitchen furnishings used in meal preparation, preservation, and consumption.
The visit also included an exploration of traditional dwellings from 10 ethnic groups in Burkina Faso, as well as a permanent exhibition on masks and traditional musical instruments. Minister Nacanabo remarked that the richness of Burkinabe culture is evident in these displays and emphasized the potential economic benefits of promoting cultural heritage.
Minister Nacanabo stressed the importance of every Burkinabe's involvement in promoting cultural heritage, drawing parallels with countries that have successfully developed through valuing their cultural assets. He highlighted that the visit, aligned with the celebration of Burkinabe Heritage Month, offered an opportunity to delve into the nation's history and collective memory to further promote Burkinabe culture.
The minister encouraged his colleagues to visit the National Museum with their families to enhance their understanding of Burkinabe history. The Director General of the National Museum, Sabari Christian Dao, expressed that the minister's visit supports their efforts to make the museum an attractive site contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
