OUAGADOUGOU, The Burkina Infrastructure Works Agency (AGETIB), in partnership with the Ministry in charge of Infrastructure, celebrated its ISO 9001 version 2015 certification on Tuesday, recognizing its quality management practices and bolstering the trust of its partners in public works.
According to Burkina Information Agency, “The Burkina Infrastructure Works Agency (AGETIB) honored our department by becoming the first ministry structure certified ISO 9001, version 2015.” The certification makes AGETIB the youngest state company and the first public delegated project owner in the country to receive this recognition, further earning the trust of its partners in the field of public works.
Minister Sorgho spoke during an official presentation ceremony of AGETIB’s certification under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Dr. Apollinaire Joachimsom Kyélem de Tambèla. He explained that the certification marks a significant milestone in his department’s journey towards excellence in public works. “Its creation was motivated by the government’s desire to promote an increase in the credit absorption capacity of contracting authorities, the speed of the acquisition process, and the relief of congestion in the central, decentralized and decentralized administration,” he said.
Sorgho emphasized that the certificate assures technical and financial partners of AGETIB’s quality, rigor, and professionalism. This recognition allows the agency to join the circle of modern and efficient organizations whose management complies with international standards. He assured AGETIB of his support in its various missions and invited other related institutions to follow its example.
AGETIB Director General Mathieu Lompo expressed gratitude for the government’s commitment to making the agency a benchmark state company. “Our ambition is to be a benchmark delegated project management agency by 2028, offering complete satisfaction to our clients and interested parties,” he said. Lompo noted that AGETIB has been committed for years to a quality approach, aiming to manage projects effectively and efficiently, and improving economic and financial performance. This approach includes adhering to good practice codes, state company governance, and meeting increasing demands for customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. He highlighted the support from the World Bank in AGETIB’s certification process.
Created in 2010, AGETIB’s mission is to support project owners in the completion of road projects in Burkina Faso.
