Burkinabe Students Encouraged to Participate in Nation-Building Efforts

Soum: "What role for Burkinabe students in building a new Burkina Faso?" The Association Accompanying the Educational System of Soum (AASES) organized, on Saturday in Djibo, an awareness session on civic duty, citizenship and patriotism for the benefit of students in the CM1 and CM2 classes. Through this initiative, the organizers intend to make learners active participants in building a new Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the awareness session was chaired by the High Commissioner of the Soum province, Wend Nere Wilfried Tougma. The ceremony gathered provincial directors, heads of service, officials of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), as well as traditional chiefs and religious leaders, who came to demonstrate their commitment to the civic education of young people.

A key feature of the meeting was a presentation by Inspector GSP Aly Sawadogo, the director of the Djibo detention and correction center. He addressed the students on the theme "What role for the Burkinabe student in the construction of a new Burkina Faso?", emphasizing the importance of civic duty, citizenship, and patriotism. Inspector Sawadogo encouraged students to adopt disciplined behaviors, respect laws, embrace their sense of duty, and nurture love for their country.

The students showed keen interest and participated actively in the discussions, reflecting their engagement with the values presented and their eagerness to contribute to the nation's development.

Organizers commended the strong participation of administrative authorities, technical services, security forces, and traditional and religious leaders, in addition to the students' enthusiasm. They believe this initiative will significantly bolster the civic and patriotic spirit among the younger generation.
