OUAGADOUGOU — In a move toward educational harmonization, Burkinabe Prime Minister Dr. Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla has voiced support for standardizing educational programs across the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Tambèla and Malian Minister of Education Amadou Sy Savané explored the feasibility of a common educational program within the AES. The Prime Minister expressed that such an initiative would fortify connections among member states, particularly through the unification of basic education frameworks. “We need to think about the best way to pool our energies within the framework of basic education, particularly. Initially, students are supported by their family, but also by the school in the fundamental sense of the term. So, we must unite our efforts to allow our children to have a quality career,” Dr. Tambèla stated.

Further, Dr. Tambèla proposed incorporating the history and geography of each AES member state into the school curricula to foster a sense of fraternity and alliance spirit among the young generations of the three countries.

The discussions occurred in the context of the Day of School Excellence in Ouagadougou, an event celebrating the achievements of Burkinabe students and educators. Minister Savané, who was also received by President Ibrahim Traoré during his visit, shared that he gained valuable insights on collaborative educational strategies from the Burkinabe leader, aimed at ensuring a prosperous future for AES children.
