Burkinabè Newspapers Highlight Pari-Mutuel Winners and India-Africa Conclave

OUAGADOUGOU — The latest editions of Burkinabè newspapers have focused on two major stories: the awarding of prizes to winners of the Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMUB) and the ongoing 19th India-Africa Conclave in New Delhi.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Olivier Dakouo, a winner of the 4+1 draw on August 11, received a prize of 60,594,000 FCFA from the National Lottery of Burkina (LONAB). The presentation took place on August 20 in Ouagadougou, in the presence of LONAB's director, Ibrahim Ben Harouna Zarané. The state-run Sidwaya newspaper added that two other winners, Issiaka Coulibaly and Abdramane Ouili, shared a sum exceeding 129 million FCFA in the town of Sya.

In another report, Sidwaya highlighted the India-Africa 2024 conclave, held from August 20 to 22 in New Delhi. The event is seen as a critical platform for fostering economic ties and investments between India and Africa. The Burkinabè delegation, led by Commerce Minister Serges Poda, is engaging in discussions with Indian business leaders to position Burkina Faso as a key investment hub in West Africa.
