Burkinabe Media Executives Visit Chinese Video Production Company to Gain Insights

CHANGSHA: A delegation of Burkinabe media executives visited TV Zone, a state-owned media production company in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, on Monday to gain insights into advanced video production techniques and media content creation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit to TV Zone, located in the Malanshan Video Creation Industrial Park, was part of a broader training seminar in Hunan province, which runs from October 11 to 31. TV Zone, a subsidiary of the Hunan Broadcasting System, specializes in producing and selling media content, including shows and TV series, to various media outlets. The company, established in 2007 and listed on the stock exchange since 2017, collaborates with other media entities and academic institutions, such as the University of Commerce of Haikou, to enhance its content offerings.

During the visit, Zhang Lin, director of the company’s administration office, explained that TV Zone focuses exclusively on content that is resold to others. The company a
lso co-organizes shows on Orange Island and broadcasts from its headquarters, which features a vast hall spanning 2000 square meters. The Burkinabe delegation expressed admiration for the technological advancements and logistical resources at TV Zone, which they found to be at the forefront of emerging media technologies.

Bassératou Kindo, publishing director of Mousso News, expressed aspirations to implement similar practices in Burkina Faso, noting the impressive environment and technological framework at TV Zone. Kassilé Traoré, editor-in-chief in the national language of Burkina Info, highlighted the valuable insights gained from the visit, emphasizing the material and logistical investments made for journalistic work at the Chinese company.

The visit is part of an ongoing effort by the Burkinabe media executives to learn from international best practices in media production and content creation.
