Burkinabe Government Approves LONAB Investment in FASO-PHARMA

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government has authorized the Burkinabe National Lottery (LONAB) to invest a substantial sum into the pharmaceutical sector, specifically in the Management Company of the Integrated Pharmaceutical Technopole of Kokologho, known as FASO-PHARMA. This decision was announced following the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, LONAB is set to acquire a 28% stake in FASO-PHARMA, amounting to 1 billion 400 million CFA francs. This strategic investment aims to bolster the financial resources of FASO-PHARMA, facilitating its journey towards full operational capability.

The Council of Ministers report highlights that this capital injection is designed to expedite the operationalization of FASO-PHARMA, a critical player in the pharmaceutical landscape of Burkina Faso. By securing this investment, the government seeks to enhance the country’s pharmaceutical production and infrastructure, ultimately contributing to the broader healthcare ecosystem.
