Tangier: On the sidelines of the 16th edition of the MEDays forum, HE Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, undertook a series of significant meetings with ambassadors from AES member countries accredited to Morocco. These discussions, held on Friday, November 29, 2024, aimed to strengthen the diplomatic ties and reiterate the vision of the AES Confederation among the representatives of Burkina, Mali, and Niger.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of Burkinabe diplomacy emphasized the importance of defending the AES cause in their respective jurisdictions. In addition to these diplomatic engagements, Minister TRAORE dedicated time to connect with Burkinabe nationals residing in Morocco. During a session on Saturday, November 30, 2024, he shared updates on the security measures being implemented and acknowledged the diaspora’s significant contribution to peace efforts.
HE Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE also introduced the concept of
the High Council of Burkinabe Abroad (HCBE), urging his compatriots to participate actively in electing delegates and ensuring the effective operation of this new institution. His visit to Morocco further extended to Oujda upon the invitation of the Honorary Consul of Burkina Faso, facilitating discussions with Mr. Noureddine BACHIRI about economic and commercial interests in the region.
Overall, Minister TRAORE’s mission in Morocco was marked by fruitful interactions and strategic dialogues aimed at amplifying the voice of Burkina Faso and the Alliance of Sahel States Confederation at the MEDays forum.
