Burkinabè Expatriates in Niger Support President Traoré’s Efforts in National Development

NIAMEY — In a significant gathering on Friday in Niamey, Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, met with Burkinabè nationals residing in Niger, where they expressed robust support for his administration’s efforts against terrorism and for economic recovery.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was characterized by a strong mobilization of the Burkinabè community, who praised President Traoré for the progress in restoring national integrity and the ongoing successes in combating terrorism. They also appreciated the initiatives aimed at economic revitalization of Burkina Faso. Emmanuel Darankoum, a notable member of the community, expressed profound support for Traoré’s leadership, drawing parallels with the revered figure of Thomas Sankara and endorsing the President’s vision for the liberation of Burkina Faso and broader Africa.

The community also voiced concerns about security, the safety of transport routes between Burkina Faso and Niger, and the integration of Burkinabè students into professional sectors. In response, President Traoré expressed gratitude for the diaspora’s commitment and reiterated his dedication to overcoming these challenges, emphasizing that the journey towards true independence for Burkina Faso and its neighbors within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) is ongoing.

On terrorism, Traoré offered insights into misinformation spread by certain adversarial media, affirming that Burkina Faso possesses sufficient natural resources to fuel its development without undue foreign dependence. He championed the promotion of local expertise and the equitable distribution of resources among all Burkinabè.

In a gesture of gratitude, the Burkinabè community in Niger presented a gift to the President, acknowledging his efforts and the strides made under his leadership.
