Burkinabè Delegation Visits Chad for Fespaco Participation


OUAGADOUGOU—A Burkinabè delegation, led by the Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of Culture, Fidèle Betamou Aymar Tamini, met with Chadian Prime Minister Allah-Maye Halina in N’Djamena on Wednesday to discuss Chad’s participation as the guest country of honor in the 29th edition of the Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Fespaco).



According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation discussed various stages of Chad’s preparation for Fespaco, a significant cultural event that gathers filmmakers from across Africa. The Chadian Prime Minister expressed enthusiasm about Chad’s substantial participation in the upcoming festival.



Fespaco’s General Delegate, Alex Moussa Sawadogo, highlighted the long-standing artistic collaboration between Chad and Burkina Faso. The 29th edition of Fespaco is scheduled for February 22 to March 1, 2024, under the theme “African Cinemas and Cultural Identities.”



The previous edition of Fespaco took place from February 25 to March 4, 2023, with Mali as the guest country of honor.
