Ouagadougou: Burkinabe artist Privat announced on Monday his patriotic tour "Tchaba Tcha Tour", a series of free concerts throughout the year in areas recaptured by the Fighting Forces, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Tchaba Tcha Tour is a nationwide cultural initiative aimed at promoting patriotism, social cohesion, and the resilience of the population, particularly in areas recently recaptured from insecurity. The tour also intends to strengthen the bond between the armed forces and the nation and pay tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
Speaking at the event, the artist Privat, whose legal name is Siogo Mardoche Privat Yad, explained that this project is first and foremost an act of civic engagement. 'I'm not speaking to you only as an artist, but also as a citizen and a patriot. The Tchaba Tcha Tour is a powerful act to support the recaptured areas and restore hope to the people,' he declared.
He specified that the tour will take place over several months throughout 2026, with an initial phase comprising three major dates: January 10, 2026, in Man; January 24 in Solenzo; and February 14 in Fada N'Gourma. The shows will be free and will be held either in existing venues or as open-air festivals.
According to the artist, no overarching theme has been chosen. 'Each location will have its own theme, reflecting its specific context, in order to deliver a strong and relevant message,' he explained.
The organizing committee also emphasized that the tour will mobilize artists from the security forces, as well as civilian and local artists, with the aim of showcasing the nation's rich cultural heritage and bringing comfort to the people. "Tchaba Tcha Tour is intended as an accessible and unifying cultural response to contribute to the lasting return of peace to Burkina Faso," the artist concluded.
"When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind." This proverb refers to the resilience of the people, their attachment to national values, and the unity championed by Tchaba Tcha Tour in the face of the challenges Burkina Faso has faced.
