Burkinabè Artist Floby Dedicates Seventh Album to National Resilience

OUAGADOUGOU — Prominent Burkinabè singer and composer Floby, born Florent Belemgnegré, officially presented his seventh studio album titled ‘Burkina Faso’ to Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the Minister of State for Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, highlighting the themes of resilience and unity amid national challenges.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during the album presentation in Ouagadougou, Floby described the album as a tribute to Burkina Faso, celebrating its cultural diversity and enduring spirit in the face of terrorism. The album, which features 18 tracks sung in Moore and French, was released on June 30, 2024, and aims to counter misconceptions about the country’s livability due to ongoing security issues.

Minister Ouédraogo praised Floby for his contributions to Burkinabè culture and the role his music plays in fostering peace and social cohesion. He emphasized the importance of cultural efforts in supporting the nation’s broader fight against its adversaries, alongside military and security measures.
