Burkinabe Army Urges Youth to Engage with Military Museum

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe army has extended an invitation to the L¨bduub-Lagumtaaba Association and the youth of Burkina Faso to play an active role in the Military Museum, transforming it into a hub of memory and education. This call was made on Saturday during an event aimed at fostering patriotic commitment among the youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the L¨bduub-Lagumtaaba Association of Youth of Burkina (ALLJB), with the backing of its partners, organized a sanitation day that culminated in a guided tour of the Army Museum. The event, part of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Participation, was an initiative to encourage young people to connect with their national history.

The representative of the head of the National Army Museum emphasized the importance of the museum as a communal space for memory and learning, urging the youth to take ownership of it. The event was presided over by Jonas Sawadogo, PDS of district no. 2, with sponsorship from His Majesty the Naaba Guigmpol©, who was represented at the occasion.

Participants, assisted by some members of the Army Museum staff and the immersed, engaged in activities like weeding, cleaning, and waste collection using tricycles before experiencing a guided tour of the army's memorial sites. The representative of the sponsor and Jonas Sawadogo praised the initiative for its patriotic spirit and encouraged ongoing civic engagement among young traders.

ALLJB President Sawadogo Isma«l expressed appreciation for the support from partners and participants, highlighting the importance of the initiative as a patriotic act in line with the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traor©, the president of Burkina Faso.

This civic engagement was facilitated by the contributions from Crois Banque, the Higher Institute of Technology (IST), the immersed, and several partners of the L¨bduub-Lagumtaaba Association of Youth of Burkina (ALLJB).
