**Burkinabe Architect Joseph Kologo Awarded 2024 African Development Prize in Kigali**

Kigali: The 2024 African Development Prize in the architecture category has been awarded to Burkinabe architect Joseph Kologo. The announcement was made last week in Kigali, Rwanda, where Kologo was recognized for his innovative contributions to African architecture.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Joseph Kologo, the head of Cauris, received accolades at the 19th edition of the African Development Prize for his work, which the jury highlighted as embodying principles of aesthetics, ecology, and sustainable development. His projects are noted for their ability to realize his clients’ visions while delivering practical and harmonious solutions that promote collective well-being.

Kologo is an alumnus of the African School of Architecture and Urban Planning (EAMAU) in Lomé, Togo, and further honed his skills at the Inter-State School of Architecture and Urban Planning (DEIAU), specializing in architecture and urban planning. Among his significant works is the monument commemorating the fiftieth anniver
sary of Burkina Faso’s independence in Bobo-Dioulasso, which has become a symbol of inspiration and unity. Additionally, he is credited with designing the youth monument in Ouagadougou’s Tampouy district, as well as notable projects for the Notre-Dame de Yagma Sanctuary and the National School of Animal Health.
